How to play Bermuda Triangle

Thirteen rounds, one target each: 12, then 13, then 14, then any double, then 15, then 16, then 17, then any triple, then 18, then 19, then 20, then the bull ring, then the bullseye. Three darts a round, and only darts on that round's target score anything. Blank a round completely and HALF of everything you have banked disappears into the triangle. Highest score after round thirteen wins.

Also played as Bermuda.

Score it instead of arguing it

Chuck Darts scores this game to exactly the rules on this page, and keeps the card open mid-match so anybody at the board can check one. A full leg of 501, a board of Cricket and six practice drills are playable right now with no account at all.

THE THIRTEEN ROUNDS

1 the 12s 6 the 16s 11 the 20s 2 the 13s 7 the 17s 12 the bull ring 3 the 14s 8 any triple 13 the bullseye 4 any double 9 the 18s 5 the 15s 10 the 19s Everyone starts on zero, and half of nothing is nothing, so there is nothing to lose until you have scored.

WHAT SCORES

Face value times the multiplier, on that round's target only. Number rounds only that number. S12 is 12, D12 is 24, T12 is 36. Round 4 any double on the board at full value — D20 is 40, D1 is 2. The bullseye counts as a double here and pays 50. Round 8 any triple at full value — T20 is 60, T1 is 3. There is no triple bull, so the bull is a dead dart this round. Round 12 the bull ring. The outer bull scores 25 and the bullseye scores 50 — both count. Round 13 the bullseye alone. Only the 50 counts; an outer bull is a dead dart, and three of them blank the round. Anything else, in any round, is worth nothing.

THE TRIANGLE

Score nothing at all in a round and HALF your running total goes — not the round's points, half of everything you are carrying. An odd total rounds down: 25 becomes 12, not 13. That is what makes the last two rounds vicious: eleven good rounds and two blanks at the bull leaves you on a quarter of what you had. It is also why three darts in the 20 during round 1 is a blank round, not a good turn. Being halved is not being knocked out. You keep throwing and rebuild, and a halving is not held against you at the end — if you are halved in round 3 and finish on 200, you beat someone halved twice who finishes on 150.

HOW YOU ENTER A SCORE

Dart by dart. The app rejects a turn typed in as a bare total, because it has to know whether your darts were on the target. Enter each round as one turn, all three darts together. If you split a round across two entries the app grades them as two separate turns at the same round — and a second fragment with nothing on target will halve you even though the round as a whole scored.

WINNING

Once every player has played all 13 rounds, the highest score wins. Level at the top and there is no winner: the app records no result and no placings. If the host ends a game of two or more before round thirteen is done, the highest banked total at that moment takes it — and a level top is a level top, nothing is recorded, exactly as at the full distance. Settle it at the throw line (the oche). If any round was logged with no dart detail, the BOARD will not name a winner — it cannot tell a blank round from an unread one, and a blank round is worth half a score. Ending a game of two or more still records a result: the highest banked total at that moment takes it, and a level top is still a level top.

TURNS, CLOCKS AND CORRECTIONS

With two or more players you can only submit on your own turn. If a turn clock is set in a ranked online game and you run it out, the app throws three misses for you — which in this game is a blank round. Half of everything you have banked goes. Corrections: a turn typed as a number is refused — the score comes from the darts. A turn the clock forfeited is the clock's own record: neither you nor the host can undo it or correct it afterwards. The two repair doors are NOT the same door, and here the difference is half of everything you have banked. Undo removes the last turn completely and replays the board without it, so the round goes back to unthrown and a total that turn changed comes back exactly as it was — undoing does not halve you. Correcting a turn to 0 is the opposite: a zero is stored as a miss, and a round of misses in Bermuda is a BLANK ROUND, so pencilling a turn to zero takes half of everything that player had banked. If you mis-entered your last turn, UNDO it — never correct it to zero. If someone has to leave, the host — or that player themselves — can take their seat out of a live game, as long as two players are left at the board: the app refuses a removal that would leave one player throwing alone, so a two-handed game has to be ended instead. The app keeps the seat in the running order so everyone else's turn order holds, but nothing more is scored for or against them: their board stops where they left it, and they are placed after everyone who finished. It cannot be undone, and Rematch will not bring them back: it carries only the seats that were still in, so start the next game and add them to it yourself.

PLAYERS

Two to eight is the intended game. The app will let you play alone, and a solo card thrown through round thirteen is a win. A solo card the host ends before round thirteen is in records no winner and no place, whatever the total at that moment.

HOUSE RULES THIS APP DOES NOT PLAY

No governing body publishes Bermuda Triangle — no rule book of the sport covers it at all — so everything above is how Chuck Darts plays it rather than the official rules of the game. The length and the penalty above ARE the published game: the Arachnid360 G3 machine manual (the American bar-machine rule set), DartHelp and Decent Darts all describe the same thirteen targets, and all three say a blank round cuts your total in half. Chuck Darts played six rounds with a blank round wiping the total to zero until 22 September 2026, and neither of those rules appeared in any published description; they are gone. Three smaller things are still ours, because no source settles them: - WHICH WAY AN ODD TOTAL GOES. Nothing published says. This app rounds DOWN, the same way its own Halve-It does, so 25 becomes 12. Some houses round up. - THE ORDER OF THE THIRTEEN. Two of the three sources state the interleaved order used above; the third names the same thirteen targets without committing to an order, and machines have been seen running the nine numbers first and the double, triple and bulls at the end. - A LEVEL TOP. No source addresses a tie. This app names nobody and records nothing. If your house wants a different call on any of those, agree it before the first dart. The app will score the version above whatever you agreed.
