Venues

Venue screens

TVs, the phone remote, pin-a-game, and board-locked station iPads.

Turn the venue's TVs into the night's broadcast: live boards, stats walls, board calls, and a signup kiosk — all controlled from the phone in your pocket.

Pair a TV

  1. On the TV's browser, open /screen. A 6-character code fills the screen.
  2. In the web app, open Settings → Screens for your venue, type the code, and claim it. Name it ("Back bar TV"), give it a role and, if it belongs to a board, a board number.

The TV keeps itself updated from then on. No login ever touches the TV — it holds its own device credential.

Roles

  • Game — shows a live scoreboard. Follows the venue's play, or exactly the game you pin.
  • Stats — the stats wall: leaderboards and the venue Hall of Fame between games.
  • House — the big picture: tournament brackets and board calls ("Jake and Sam — Board 3"). An unpinned house TV follows the venue owner's running night on its own — you do not have to pin the tournament for those calls to land. Unpin, or a night that has finished, drops it back to the attract wall.
  • Station — a board-locked iPad: scoreboard, walk-up signup, and the claim funnel for its board only. Nothing else.

The phone remote

Open Venue Screens on your phone. Every paired TV is a card: change its role, set its board, claim a new TV by code, or remove one — while you walk the floor.

Pin a game: tap the pin on any game or house screen to see the venue's live games — "Cricket — Sam vs Alex" — and send one to that TV. The grudge match goes on the big screen in two taps. Unpin to let the screen go back to following the night.

House attract: tap House attract on that same card to open the venue wall URL — arcade 10-second dwell, every default card. You do not need the laptop. A live or pinned match still wins that door.

Last match on the wall: tap Last match on the wall on that same card to open the recap URL — only the last-match card (slides=lastMatch), arcade 10-second dwell. You do not need the laptop. A live or pinned match still wins that door.

Sign-up on the wall: tap Sign-up on the wall on that same card to open the walk-up QR URL — only the join card (slides=join), arcade 10-second dwell. You do not need the laptop. A live or pinned match still wins that door.

Next night on the wall: tap Next night on the wall on that same card to open the next-night URL — only the published league night (slides=nextNight), arcade 10-second dwell. You do not need the laptop. A live or pinned match still wins that door.

House average on the wall: tap House average on the wall on that same card to open the house-line URL — only the 3-dart trend (slides=trend), arcade 10-second dwell. You do not need the laptop. A live or pinned match still wins that door.

Regulars on the wall: tap Regulars on the wall on that same card to open the regulars URL — only who keeps showing up (slides=regulars), arcade 10-second dwell. You do not need the laptop. A live or pinned match still wins that door.

Recent winners on the wall: tap Recent winners on the wall on that same card to open the recent-winners URL — only who won recently (slides=recentWinners), arcade 10-second dwell. You do not need the laptop. A live or pinned match still wins that door.

Station iPads

Mount an iPad at each board and pair it with the station role plus a board number. Players at that board get:

  • the live scoreboard for their game,
  • walk-up tournament signup with just a name,
  • the claim flow when a game ends — see Guests and claiming.

A station shows only its own board. It's safe to leave unattended all night.

Attract mode (idle wall)

When a TV has nothing pinned and nobody is throwing, the venue wall is a timed attract loop — arcade-cabinet energy: huge names, 180s, a join QR, then the next card. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV; attract does not cover a game that is on. A stats screen keeps this loop up while boards are live, and the hall of fame stays on the payload so the names do not vanish the moment someone steps up. When a 1v1 is on, the wall also shows how those two have done against each other in this venue — tonight's scores stay on now-playing.

Cast it. This is already a web URL. Open it in the TV's browser, or cast/mirror that tab. There is no separate Chromecast app.

What URL
Attract / idle wall (direct) /tv?venue=your-venue-slug
Paired fleet TV (claim code, then the same wall) /screen
Camera-rig kiosk /board
Tournament walk-up kiosk /kiosk/:tournament-slug

Turn slides on or off on that television: tap Slides (bottom left on the idle wall). The choice is local to the device — 8–12 seconds per card, default 10. Empty cards (no 180s yet, no ads) stay hidden.

Same cards on every TV. Copy the house link from Settings → Screens (web), Venue Screens on the phone, or from that Slides panel on a television that is already up. Web copies slides (which cards) and dwell (seconds). The phone copies arcade dwell and leaves the card set to the television's own defaults, so a new card is not turned off by a stale list. Every television that opens that link starts on the same loop. A TV opened without those params still remembers its own choice. Customize on a TV, then recopy from that panel.

Last match on the wall. Settings → Screens (web) and Venue Screens (phone) also copy a recap link: the same /tv?venue= door with only the last-match card (slides=lastMatch). Open it on a house TV after a 1v1 and the wall stays on who beat whom. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV.

Sign-up on the wall. Settings → Screens (web) and Venue Screens (phone) also copy a walk-up link: the same /tv?venue= door with only the join card (slides=join). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on "put your name on the board" instead of walking on. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV.

House average on the wall. Settings → Screens (web) and Venue Screens (phone) also copy a house-line link: the same /tv?venue= door pinned to the 3-dart trend (slides=trend). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on how the house has been scoring. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. Empty-data venues still skip the card.

Next night on the wall. Settings → Screens (web) and Venue Screens (phone) also copy a next-night link: the same /tv?venue= door with only the published league night (slides=nextNight). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on when the house plays again. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. A venue with no published schedule still skips the card.

Lifetime H2H on the wall. Settings → Screens also copies a record link: the same door pinned to the last pair's record at this venue (slides=lifetimeH2H). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on Colby 12–7 Tina. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. One meeting is a skip — last-match already said who won.

Form on the wall. Settings → Screens also copies a form link: the same door pinned to the win-rate card (slides=form). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on who is winning. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. Empty-data venues still skip the card.

Regulars on the wall. Settings → Screens also copies a regulars link: the same door pinned to who keeps showing up (slides=regulars). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on the people who play here. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. Empty-data venues still skip the card.

Named 180s on the wall. Settings → Screens (web) and Venue Screens (phone) also copy a named-180s link: the same /tv?venue= door pinned to who hit 180 (slides=namedOneEighties). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on the names, not the monthly count. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. A month with no named 180s still skips the card.

Checkout of the night on the wall. Settings → Screens (web) and Venue Screens (phone) also copy a checkout-night link: the same /tv?venue= door pinned to tonight's best finish (slides=checkoutNight). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on who checked out. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. A night with no finish still skips the card.

Recent winners on the wall. Settings → Screens (web) and Venue Screens (phone) also copy a recent-winners link: the same /tv?venue= door pinned to who won recently (slides=recentWinners). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on the names from the last finished nights. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. Empty-data venues still skip the card.

Heat map on the wall. Settings → Screens also copies a house board link: the same door pinned to where the house throws (slides=heatmap). Open it on a house TV and the wall stays on the beds recent nights actually hit. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV. Empty-data venues still skip the card.

Ad on the wall. A Host (phone Host, or web Settings → Manage) opens the same door pinned to the house-ad card (slides=ads). Post a poster, then keep the TV on it instead of letting the loop walk on. A live or pinned match still wins the ordinary venue TV.

Default cards, when the data is there: now playing, head-to-head of the pair on the oche, who beat whom on the last finished 1v1, that winner's night (3-dart / MPR / total from the same recap) once they have thrown, the other seat's night (the same numbers for the player who lost) once they have thrown, the shareable recap card (both seats' headline side by side) once they have both thrown, their record at this venue once they have met twice, the race of that 1v1 once they have thrown two rounds, the house 3-dart average over recent nights, where the house throws (a heat map from nights that recorded each dart), leaderboard (names big), form, regulars, 180s this month and who hit them, checkout of the night, recent winners, darts thrown here, next league night, a house announcement, and "put your name on the board" with the join QR.

Your boards: posters, tags and check-in

Save each board once, in Settings → Venue boards ("Board 1", "Board 2"). Everything below follows from those rows.

  • Print a poster per board. In Manage on your venue, Boards → Print board posters makes one page for each board, light or dark: the board's number, a QR to scan, and a marked spot for the tag. Reprint any time — the codes never change, even if you rename a board. A board whose name has no number in it ("The one by the door") prints its name in place of "Board #" and a number.
  • Stick a tag on the spot. A tag is a QR you tap instead of scan: it opens the same check-in page. Writing a board's tag from the phone app (coming in a later phone release) links that tag to that board, and a tag already on another board is refused.
  • What a tap does. A player taps the tag or scans the QR at a board and is checked in at that board. Their next game at your venue that night is recorded on that board without anyone choosing it. If you called their party from the waiting list, your list shows them as checked in. Somebody with no account can still tap; it counts as a check-in with no name.
  • Calling a party. On the waiting list, tap the board that just opened and press Call. Their phone hears that board's name. Nothing is held and nothing times out: you clear a party by hand, as always.
  • The call seats them, like a bowling desk. When you call a party to one of your saved boards, the next game the person who joined the list starts at your venue that night is recorded on that board, with no tap needed. Until that game starts, your venue TV shows "Board 3: @colby's party — up next" (a player who keeps their profile private shows as "a party"). If they never come, Clear them: the TV line goes, and nothing is seated. If they tap a different board's tag after the call, they play where they tapped.
  • House darts go out with the call. Joining the list asks one thing besides the party size: "Bringing your own darts, or need house darts?", with a number of sets. Your list then reads "party of 3 · needs 2 sets", so you hand the sets over when you call them. Only the ask is recorded: there is no price and nothing is charged.
  • The wait players see. The waiting-list card on your venue page shows a player "Estimated wait: about 15 min" or "No wait — a board is free", before they join and while they wait. It comes from your own boards: how long a finished game took on them over the last 30 nights (the middle one, not the average), times the parties ahead, shared across your boards, rounded up to five minutes. With fewer than three finished games on your boards it shows nothing rather than a guess. It is an estimate, never a promise.
  • An unfinished game nudge. When a game at your venue has had no dart for 45 minutes, your list says "Board 2 has an unfinished game since 9:15 pm". End ends it exactly as the game's own End button does, whoever started it, but you cannot name a winner for a game somebody else started. The game is then recorded like any ended game: its stats and placements are written as for any End, and the players get the usual game-ended notice. Only tonight's games are listed, and a paused game is not: its host paused it on purpose.
  • "A party is waiting for this board." While a party waits, a game that has run 30 minutes shows this line on the TV. It is a notice: no clock is shown and nobody is stopped.
  • A status label on a board ("League until 9 pm", "Out of order"): type it in Board status on the board's row in the Boards panel or on its phone card and tap Save status, and it shows beside that board's name on the TV and in the waiting list as a notice only (an emptied field clears it).
  • The Boards panel. Under the waiting list, each board shows its games, darts thrown and check-ins for the last 7 and 30 nights, and its busiest night and hour in your time zone. A board nobody has recorded a game on says so. A game counts by who hosted it: only games hosted by our own test accounts are left out, so a game a real player hosts counts whoever else is seated in it.
